The company behind the “cookie diet” has introduced a new gluten-free diet cookie. Smart for Life announced this week that it was making its gluten-free Banana Chocolate Chip squares available online and through the company’s affiliated weight-loss centers. The company said its new product is low in calories and uses a “super fiber” that helps people maintain health cholesterol, insulin and glucose levels.
“I have been asked by many of my patients and clients to come up with a gluten-free diet cookie,” says Sasson Moulavi, founder of Smart for Life. “A person either chooses to be gluten-free to positively impact their health or must avoid gluten for medical reasons. After a year of experimenting, we finally got a product that tastes great and has lots of health benefits.”
Smart for Life was founded by Dr. Sasson Moulavi, also known as Dr. Sass, designed to help people lose weight by eating small meals and cookie diets. Like many, he too was overweight and tried several dieting programs before formulating his own by putting together many of the good traits in a cookie.
Like its other products, Smart for Life said the new banana chocolate chip square uses organic ingredients and has no preservatives. It also works to keep cravings under control and is made with a healthy mix of proteins, good fats and carbohydrates, the company said.
“The gluten-free market is growing, but unfortunately, a lot of gluten-free products do not taste that great. We have been able to create a delicious taste profile that people will be amazed to know happens to be gluten-free,” said Smart for Life Chief Operating Officer Richard Kayne.
The company said a recent study found that people who used Smart for Life products, including, soups, cookies, shakes, bagel chips and cupcakes, lost an average of 13.5 pounds in one month. Eat Cookies, Lose Weight! It's that Simple!
