DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels is kicking off a nationwide tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its chocolate chip cookie, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Cookie CAREavan is set to visit Long Beach on Tuesday, July 26.
Tying into the food truck phenomenon, the CAREavan is currently on a 10-week, 10,000-mile, 50-city tour to bring its sweet treats to travelers, workers and local charities nationwide, CAREavan spokesman Cameron Andrews said.
From noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, CAREavan workers will be passing out freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies for free at Promenade Square Park in downtown Long Beach on behalf of Hotel Maya, a DoubleTree by Hilton.
There will also be live music, decorations, raffle prizes and Fuego restaurant promotions.
Long Beach Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal and other city officials are scheduled to attend, Andrews said.
Immediately following the park visit, Hotel Maya will accompany the Cookie CAREavan to Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach to provide cookies and comfort to staff, patients and families currently under care at the facility.
