A MISSING boy was found wandering through Camberwell Safeway with his face covered in chocolate ice cream. Callers to Triple 0 reported a barefoot child in the supermarket about 3.50am today. The eight-year-old autistic boy’s head was buried in the frozen food section when police arrived

The blond boy was taken to Camberwell police station, where he was looked after by nightshift staff. He was wearing an orange T-shirt with an “Extreme Motorcross” logo on the front and dark blue tracksuit pants.Sen-Constable Marty Beveridge said the boy’s liking of chocolate extended to the watch house at Camberwell, “as the boy eyed off the local stash, forcing police to move quickly to ensure their emergency sustenance was kept in tact”. He was at the station for about an hour, and police contacted his parents after finding his name on a tag inside his pants.
